Our classes are taught at a warm and safe 75°-90°. We use heat in the winter and AC in the summer.  We aim to keep the room warm enough for the body to be comfortable and the muscles to relax, but not so hot that you can't find your breath.  As we have no set style or fixed flow, each class is as unique as the teacher guiding it! However, here are some guidelines to help you choose the class for you:

Beginners Vinyasa

Geared towards the newer student, this class breaks down the basics of Vinyasa Yoga; the focus is on breath, core, and alignment. As this class flows at a much slower pace, it’s a great start for anyone new and curious about yoga, and also a great place for experienced yogis to slow down their practice and focus on the more subtle aspects of aasana.

Vinyasa

A style of yoga linking movement with breath. Vinyasa classes flow through a series of postures (asanas), choreographed to the rhythm of your breath, each movement matching an inhale or an exhale. This class tends to flow at a faster pace with less cuing and some experience is recommended. That being said, every class can be done at your own pace with as many breaks as your body needs or likes!

Moderate Vinyasa

Feeling pretty comfortable in beginners classes but not sure if you are ready to jump to vinyasa?  This class is designed to offer more of a challenge and help you transition your practice.  You will receive more cuing and slower transitions than vinyasa and you will also be introduced to some new postures!

Ashtanga

A dynamic vinyasa system developed by the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India that all modern vinyasa styles have grown from. By moving and breathing though a set series of postures, students will strengthen their body and gain flexibility, while also learning to still and focus the mind. This strong all-levels class teaches the fundamentals of the Ashtanga Yoga system - sun salutations, ujjayi breath, energy locks and vinyasas - covering approximately half of the primary series. Over time students will become intimately familiar with the poses and series, enabling them to find a deep and calm connection with their practice.

Yin

Open to all levels, yin classes are created based on the Chinese meridian system (the same system worked through acupuncture/acupressure). Postures are held for several minutes to allow the muscles to relax and to create tension in the deep connective tissue of the body.  Mostly mat work (no flow), with a focus on the hips and legs.  A great way to balance out a more active “yang” practice.

Slow Flow

A slower paced, more meditative vinyasa format.

Restorative

Open to all levels, restorative classes focus on stillness both in body and mind, with the aid of blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps. The props fully support the body and allow both the muscles and connective tissue to relax and open, releasing toxins, improving your immune system, and allowing injuries to heal.  Postures are held for five minutes or more.
